The School of Complementary Therapies opened its doors in June 1995. Our very first course was Color Therapy which was written and developed by our Founder, Jacqueline Fairbrass. The first class was run in the basement of Jacqueline’s home, with a dozen eager students sitting on pillows on the floor and sharing lunch in her kitchen. Very quickly Jacqueline’s Color Therapy Program~Creativity and Expression was snapped-up by Algonquin College, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada for their Palliative Care Program.

Our next step was the Holistic Foot Reflexology Program. Jacqueline was impressed with the wonderful healers she was meeting on the holistic path, but found many of them lacked the ability to teach well or to develop really good, clear and concise manuals. Hence, our most successful course came into being. Over the years, the course has been added to, modified and kept current with new information and even better manuals. This unique course has led to thousands of students trained in the Fairbrass Reflexology Method^SM and a training program developed so that others are able to teach Jacqueline’s highly effective Reflexology courses.

Next came Reiki training and the School really began to take off. SCT now has instructors in Ontario and BC, Canada and Jacqueline is expanding into the US in Washington.

To make our fabulous courses available to a larger audience, we branched into distance learning and many of our five-star courses are now available for home study. In 2011 we brought our prices down for the long distance learning courses so that we can spread the education and training in holistic health care and complementary therapies to as many as possible.
