Knowing is not enough we must apply. Thinking is not enough we must do.’ ~ Wendy Greene, Reflexology Instructor, Ottawa, ON

‘Enjoy the simple pleasures: celebrate time with family, friends and loved ones, take joy in waking from a good night’s sleep, laugh a lot, don’t sweat the small stuff, and revel in those times you get to yourself to do nothing!’ ~ Sarah Pelchat, Bookkeeper, Proof-reader, Research & Editing

I have a few processes I go through as the year closes and I begin the new year with some fresh goals: I do not make resolutions as they often lead to frustration and disappointment. Picking a one-word theme as part of goal setting for the year, can help you Focus*  and give you something to build on. I find this one-word theme can be a great place to start and you can use this strategy in both your personal and professional life.

What is your One-Word theme for 2012  and what new activity will you incorporate in the coming year?

*My one-word theme for 2012 is ‘Focus’ my ‘Something New’ is being part of +12in12 on Google+. ~ Elaine Lindsay – TROOL Social Media Intuitive Solutions-Social Business Strategist & Speaker & SCT Webdiva

2011 Words of Wisdom

‘Without your health nothing else really matters.
This year give yourself the gift of health. Pay attention to your physical, mental and emotional needs. Take time to be with loved ones, to appreciate the good in your life and to love. Allow yourself to receive love and choose to be healthy. Without your health nothing else matters.’ ~ Jacqueline Fairbrass, Founder SCT

Shared Wisdom From A Friend ‘Pay attention. Tell the truth. Be responsible for what you do. Ask for what you want. Keep your promises. Why not?’ ~ Carole Hawksley, Retired Instructor, Faculty Advisor

‘Let your passion, purpose, power and grace be seen by everyone.’ ~ Barbara Power, Aromatherapy Instructor

‘At some stage in your life you might reach a point where you feel there is cloud hanging over your head… as with any cloud all it takes is some wind (a breath of fresh air) to move it on. This breath of fresh air is usually right in front of you, you just can’t see it for the cloud. It could be someone new in your life, something someone said, something you read or taking that course with SCT that you keep thinking about. All you need to do is be aware and let the wind blow, this will disperse the cloud allowing the Light to shine through, which in turn will allow your Light to shine. My motto for 2011 is “Let the wind blow, Be Bright” ~ Adrian McKeague, Reiki Instructor

‘Laugh and love with an open heart!’ ~ Michele Appleby, Reflexology Instructor

‘The other day I asked my husband why we had ever stayed up late and we both shook our heads in disbelief. My thought for 2011 is to enjoy and take advantage of every minute of sleep you possibly can…you will not miss sleep until you cannot get it anymore.‘ ~ Sarah Fairbrass, Kenny’s Korner, Bookkeeper, Research & Editing

‘May 2011 make all your dreams your reality… Live, Laugh Love: In the Moment!’ ~ Elaine Lindsay, WebDiva
