Traditional Holistic Aromatherapy Training for Massage Therapists

Traditional Holistic Aromatherapy Training for Massage Therapists is currently available for you by correspondence. This in-depth study of Aromatherapy is a 250 hour professionally recognized certification program available for CMOT credits. It is the basic of CAHT designation program, without the massage training module.

Traditional Holistic Aromatherapy is defined a both an Art and the Science of utilizing natural distilled extracts from aromatic plants to heal the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Massage, inhalation and baths containing essential oils are used to transport the essences throughout the body to effect organ functions including sedation, stimulation and digestive aids. Holistic Aromatherapists also seek to explore the psychological and spiritual aspects of an individual’s response to aromatic extracts and enhance the innate healing process. As an holistic therapy Aromatherapy is both a preventative approach to well-being and an active treatment during acute and chronic stages of illness or ‘dis’ease.

An instructional manual in Anatomy and Physiology with textbook and an instructional manual in Aromatherapy with textbook, are supplied to the student. Study time includes history and theories of Aromatherapy, review of basic human anatomy and physiology, expert teaching of aromatherapy blending and massage techniques, knowledge of 49 plus essential oils, introduction to health histories and consulting with clients, business practice, morals and ethics and introduction to the subtle anatomy. Home study assignments must be submitted to SCT for evaluation and final written and practical examinations are required for certification.

Aromatherapy Career

Our Aromatherapy program offered by the School of Complementary Therapies is unique in the field of Aromatherapy. The Program is based on UK training models and expands the students' knowledge far beyond the "chemical" aspects of Aromatherapy. Our therapeutic blending techniques take into account the "holistic" nature of Aromatherapy and the business module is based on "attraction marketing". Successful graduates of the Program learn how to visualize their aromatherapy dreams and make them come true! If you are looking for a truly holistic approach to this ancient healing art to add to your practice, then this is the Program for you.
