SCT graduates have been approved for membership by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. AADP promotes an enhanced professional image and prestige among practitioners of traditional and nontraditional therapies and methodologies. AADP fosters unity among "grass roots" practitioners and those with advanced academic credentials. AADP brings reputable chiropractors, naturopaths, acupuncturists and other "drugless" healthcare providers together to share ideas and to help educate the public that good health can be obtained without the use of drugs. It is this Association's doctrine that "you cannot be drugged into good health." Their worldwide membership of practitioners unite to encourage improved public awareness of the benefits of drugless health care. The American Association of Drugless Practitioners Certification and Accreditation Board would like to personally invite you to become a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner.

Just wanted to give you an update on the "Spa Day" at the Robertson Retirement House which was held on Tuesday, April 21, 2009.  Major change in plans....I injured my back while traveling to clients(lugging all the equipment) not heavy but very bulky and difficult to maneuver through people's homes, in some cases up to the third floor!!! Anyhow, I already have problems with my back and have been treated for the past year on a weekly basis just to repair sublimations throughout my spine.  Have made great progress but "traveling reflexology "will no longer be part of my plan.  I spoke with Amy Naphan the day before the event, she called me to confirm.  At that point I was already in quite a bit of pain (injured my back on Sunday afternoon) and was already wondering how I would make it through the event.  I didn't want to let her down as I had given her my word and accepted to participate several weeks ago.  I also didn't want to back out and have her think that the students or the School are unreliable.  I asked Amy how many people had signed up for reflexology.  I explained to her that in the two hour time frame I would only be able to work on two people (including health history ect).  She then explained that all she wanted was someone explain what reflexology was and to give them a 5 minute sample.  At this point I realized that I had misunderstood her initial request and I asked if I could call her back in 10 minutes.  I then decided to take a chance and call Mike Appleby who also took the course and lives in the west end and ask him if he would be interested in participating in my place.   I explained the situation to Mike,  he was available and willing to participate.  I thanked him and then I contacted Amy to explain that I would not be attending but that Mike would be there.  She was ok with it, understood my back problem and appreciated that I was able to provide a replacement with not much notice.  So, all in all, Mike saved the day!  I spoke with Mike today to find out how the event went, "It was great, I had fun" he said.  He is also participating in another Spa Day in May (out in Kanata) another retirement home and as I understand it he will be returning to Robertson House in a few months for another Spa Day.  Yeah Mike!  Thank you! Lynne Shea, Holistic Foot Reflexology Student

Congratulations to Sarah and Matt! Diamond Solitaire
Some of you may remember Sarah Fairbrass working in the Ottawa office before taking a "gap" couple of years in Vancouver. Sarah and Matt became engaged on June 7th. Past students and grads will remember Sarah from classes and trade-shows when she studied Reiki, A&P and Color Therapy and graduated in Holistic Foot Reflexology. Sarah now works in accounting, but uses her holistic skills on a daily basis and maintains an organic mostly vegetarian diet. Sarah is Behind the Scenes in our Ottawa Office.

SCT Baby News! This March our Reiki Master graduate and soon to be SCT Usui Reiki Instructor Adrian McKeague and his wife Kris were gifted with a new addition to the family. Unfortunately, at the time, sadness arrived with dear little Penelope's birth and we chose to wait to announce it in our Newsletter. Penelope was still-born. She was resuscitated and after a long strong struggle has come home to Kris, Ade and big brother Matheo. Penelope has cerebral palsy. Our thoughts and prayers are with this loving family as we now all share in celebrating Penelope's arrival. Welcome Penelope!
