Margarethe von zur Muehlen

MargaretheHello, I’m Margarethe but please, call me Maggie. I’m the Ottawa Reflexology Examiner and here I’ll share with you a little about why I love Reflexology.

From an early age I was exposed to the benefits of healing touch having been born into a family who are all very gifted with their hands. My mother has a basic understanding of reflexology and practiced often on my feet as I was growing up. She explained to me and my siblings how everything was connected.

My father insisted when we live in Berlin, Germany so that we children could see a doctor who also had homeopathic training. This way I learned to understand that there was more to healing the body than just prescribing medicine for the symptoms. At an early age I knew it was important to prevent ailments by maintaining health though proper nutrition, physical activity, and general self care.

To further my studies in understanding how the brain and body function I took a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill in Psychology, with major concentration in Neuropsychiatry and Neuro-pharmacology. I understand how we as humans alter brain and body functions through various means.

Three years ago I decided to explore my passion of healing touch by taking the Holistic Foot Reflexology Training with the School of Complementary Therapies. I instantly realized that Reflexology was a profession that brought me to a state of complete connection with the universe. It enables me to encourage people to cultivate space in their lives for healing and restoration.

This year I joined the beautiful Team SchoolofCT where I get to share my passion for Reflexology with students as their practical examiner.

The best way to reach me is email: margarethe.vonzurmuehlen@gmail.com, and for those that prefer the phone my number is (613) 558-4754
