Pause in Peace and Ask for Guidance
Don’t let the winter blahs get you down. Take a little time to yourself this February to get in touch with the slowness of winter and enjoy the season. This month I’m sharing with you some of my thoughts and give you some ideas about how you can use this time of year to make changes. Gentle change leads to permanent results.
I stood outside this morning, breathing the cool, crisp air and looking around at the beauty of the natural world. It’s misty today. I can see the trees, but beyond the pond the trees disappear into the haze, only their outlines can be seen reaching into the sky.
The mountains have disappeared, replaced by a soft, luminous whiteness.
As I turn around I can hear the I90 highway, the trucks rolling by, their sound muted by the softness of the fog. As I turn full circle and listen a little more carefully, I can hear the gentle pitter-pat of the damp air dripping from the trees. A solitary bird flies over head. Even the little chickadees are quiet for once.
It is so peaceful and beautiful.
I am alone.
Yet, I know I am not alone.
The mountains are there, even though I cannot see them. The cars are rolling by as people get on with their lives. Even though I cannot see anything beyond the trees and the mist I know life is still going on.
And more, even though I cannot see it, I know that I am loved and cherished by friends and family. Even though I cannot see it, I know that there are angels and faeries nearby. Yet, even though I cannot see it, I know there is a higher power, call it god or goddess, creator or universe, I know it’s out there and I am part of this oneness.
Life is good.
Take a moment today to pause in peace. Take time to rest, take time to breathe deeply, take time to listen to the small, quiet whispers that speak to us of our dreams and wishes.
Enjoy the quiet times, for this world is busy and energetic and we often spend our time rushing around focused on the busy-ness of life and forget just how beautiful life can be.
Today I give thanks for all the beauty in life and the wonders around. This is a beautiful planet. Celebrate and give thanks.
What are your dreams and ambitions?
Are you taking time to reflect on how wonderful you are? Are you taking time to reflect on all the lives you touch daily, and have done throughout your life?
February is often a month we feel we should rush through to get to the Spring.
Slow down, breathe deeply, pause in peace and reflect on how far you’ve come in life and begin the dreaming process again.
What do you want to do next with this wonderful gift of life you have been given? Each day is a chance to start living your life the way you want to live it.
What gentle changes can you start today to make your life one of health, happiness and abundance? Start by pausing and being still for a few moments each day before you begin the daily routines and set your intention for the day.
Today I will breathe deeply, give gratitude for the love and beauty that surrounds me and carry that peace in my heart. What will you do?
You are the most important thing in your entire life. Put your arms around yourself and love yourself for all you’re worth.
- Whatever is happening in your life take steps to simply surrender.
- Let go and let god/goddess.
- Relax, breathe deeply.
- All is well.
- When you are tired, rest.
- When you are in pain: lean on a friend, a loved one, a family member, a therapist or a Wellness Coach
- If you feel like having fun, play.
- When you are feeling sad, simply sit down and cry.
- If you are lonely, connect with a loved one, a friend, a family member, your Coach or therapist.
- When you are in need of pampering, do whatever nurtures you. (My personal favorite that lifts my spirit is a bubble bath, with a glass of wine and some beautiful organic chocolate.)
- Take some time to ‘smell the roses’ and slow down. You have all the time in the world.
And this month’s final reminder: be grateful for the things you have and more will come to you. Don’t focus on what you haven’t got; focus on what you do have.
