Healing isn’t always a choice. It may be the only way. My story? I had to become a healer.
In 1985 my life turned upside down and inside out. A hyperactive diagnosis (we didn’t even have the term Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder ADHD) as my four-year old daughter was bursting out of her own skin!
Screaming, shrieking, biting, hitting! Completely out of control.
And I felt absolutely helpless.
Drugs was the answer.

Or at least, the medical community seemed to think so. They had some lovely experimental stimulants that seemed to have a calming effect on some children.
Something deep inside of me said NO. It was a gut feeling. Visceral. Primal. My truth.
So, I said it out loud. NO, WE’LL FIND ANOTHER WAY!
And I did. Long story short: we removed sugar, artificial flavors + colors, processed food + anything that came in a box. And we added whole natural foods, home-cooked, locally grown.
We removed most TV + replaced with healing touch complementary therapies, reading + yoga.
I studied, learned healing arts, nutrition, cooking, psychology, spirituality.
Truth be told. It wasn’t all rainbows, unicorns + happy times. It was messy and there were times I broke down. The night I made a lentil-nut loaf for dinner. Epic. Fail. And after the kids went to bed I snuck to the Dairy Queen for a burger + fries.
However, there were times we had so much joy it over-flowed into every aspect of life. No more broken nights of sleep. Vacations without fear of a kid acting-out. Quiet + peaceful Saturday morning errands. More freakin’ fun than I could have imagined.
So, in 1995 I opened the Jacqueline Fairbrass School of Complementary Therapies so I could teach others how to take control of their own lives + health. And the ripples began.
As people began to heal themselves + their families, so they began to help others. Reflexology, Reiki, Aromatherapy + Color Therapy. Courses to round out a successful practice in Business, Communication + Ethics. Culminating in a highly well-recognized + accredited Certified Natural Health Practitioner.
Now I’ve students and graduates ALL OVER THE WORLD!
From my basement in Ottawa to teaching internationally. It’s been quite the journey. And I feel blessed.

I didn’t have anyone to guide me, and there was a lot of trial + error. But you’ve got me, my experience + personalized supervision.
Each student receives weekly Study Tips and is invited to a weekly Student Clinic on-line. Because the Jacqueline Fairbrass School of Complementary Therapies is unique. I’ve walked the talk and talked the walk. And I share it all with you.
Learn to heal and become a healer. How can I help you get started today? Because together we can make the world a better place.
