Have you ever thought you couldn’t do YOGA?
There’s a Yoga path for everyone. Enhance the health and well-being of every aspect of your life. Manage stress and anxiety, even pain. Learn to live more in the now. With less worry and hassle. Feel how good breathing and moving can make you feel.
Can you imagine your life with a simple set of tools that will bring more joy, boost your immune system and even attract more friends?
That’s just some of what yoga has done for me!
I started my Yoga practice in 1973 when I found Richard Hittleman. An American TV yoga instructor. My home was somewhat chaotic. Can we say dysfunctional? You bet? And I would dread the end of the school day when I had to head home.
Until I found yoga. And it felt like it saved my life.
In 1995 I became a certified instructor. Studying Gemini New Age Yoga. A type of hatha yoga with a leaning to working with female bodies and those who through they couldn’t do yoga. (See where I’m going with this?)
Anyhoos, as I expanded into more and more health care modalities, I continued to train. Round Body Yoga to learn how to help those who felt that they were too cuddly. (And I admit it’s come in handy as I’ve got a bit older and a bit fluffier.)
Did some Chair Yoga, for those who couldn’t work on the mat. Honestly, the gratification of working with someone whose body feels like it let them down. When they realize that they too, can do yoga. There’s nothing like it! Woot woot!
I even took a specialized training for those with alcohol and drug addictions. Learning to Surrender. And live life in the now. Wow!
And then, just at a time when I felt my life was falling apart, I found Kundalini Yoga.
And it was the second time that I felt Yoga Saved My Life!
Now, you’ll find a yoga studio or two in every town. And it’s lost quite a bit of its magic, in my honest opinion. Going from a connection to the breath that led to relaxation and focus. Better health and more flexibility in body, mind, emotions and spirits. It’s more likely to be an aerobics class. Led by some fit 30 something in a snazzy, spandex outfit. Who pops a leg behind her ears and shouts instructions.
So, that’s why I asked the question: thought you can’t do yoga?
No experience? No problem.
Not flexible? No problem.
Illness or pain? No problem.
(And by the way, even if you can kick butt on a yoga mat, I’ve something that suits everyone!
